Last night I was at a nursery buying some flowers, and started chatting with the security guard. One thing led to another and before you know it I am hearing a story which tops my family situation HANDS DOWN! Check this out...This woman 50 years old is also a security guard at a womans detention center--she holds down 2 jobs and has 9 GIRLS! Anyway, according to her she was the main caregiver for her deceased parents with no help from others in ther family...now that story is familiar to mine..:) but here is what happened. When her parents (father was a cop) died and a year later she got a message from the IRS saying that she had to pay tax on the $260,000 which she received as a settlement from her parents life insurance policy...Problem was...she never received a dime! Her brother (also a cop) somehow intercepted a check which was intended for she instead! To make this very long story very short, she filed charges against her brother and 2 days ago was convicted and sent to prison for 32 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize the website is not finished telling my entire story with regard to the conservator which oversees my mothers estate, but something happened this past week that just added more drama to my story. Basically, the secretary of the conservator maintains the schedule for when my sister and I visit--not for my mothers benefit, but this was put in place so that my sister actually does not have to see me. This has been going on so long now that I just have accepted it and dont think twice about it. Last Friday my sister was coming to visit my mother so I woke at about 4:30am to start getting all of my things together to drive back to Chicago. I called the conservators office and spoke with him directly. "Do you know what time my sister is coming?" He answers, "I dont know if she is coming or not coming". Ok I could go on an on about his situation, but bottom line is that this man who is my mothers conservator knew all the time that my sister was NOT coming. He was out and out right lying to me! There are so many more details to this story, but I am saving that for my book, but why is he lying to me about something so insignificant about this. If he is lying about this, what else is he lying about.

Dont ever tell me that I did not warn you! Warn you about what you ask? About how your parents and or you if you are a parent can ruin a family overnight if you dont discuss the family finances. There is so much to tell and so much to discuss with regard to my family nightmare that I have created a website specifically to tell it. I will be finished with that site very soon, but in the meantime, please share your story so that others like me wont think that my family is the most dysfunctional one on the planet!
